Where to stay / Re: Nafsika
« on: June 07, 2012, 02:19:00 PM »
I don't think Speros has any apartments detached from The Nafsika other than his own beachfront house.

There are 18 rooms in The Nafsika, Thomsons have 16 and Speros lets 2 privately, these 2 are on the top floor facing the beach.

Information and help please / Re: Mosqitoes?
« on: June 03, 2012, 12:56:38 AM »
Speros (Nafsika) told us to go and buy cheap insect spray and always spray the room as we go out in the evening.  Windows closed etc.  Plus, I never even go out on the balcony without jungle formula and also the Soltan insect repellant after sun on.  Following this I have managed to beat the little b's for last 4 visits!  Someone also told me that Avon SKIN SO SOFT - DRY OIL BODY SPRAY IS GOOD TO USE TOO.  So, I NEVER wear perfume (the mossies love that) and spray with Avon!  I am definitely prepared.  Got a bite by a horsefly on my foot on the beach 5 years ago - blimey that really did hurt!

Speros gave us the same advice and it works well!!

A big problem, take a lot of repellent, you'll need it.

Now is the perfect time!

Totally agree Tony, Speros needs to keep up with the times! Get fridges installed, I'll have a word with him soon?

Speros is a businessman, why would he give his guests a fridge when he can sell his "ice cold drinks" at his bar.

I totally agree, he should be thinking of installing fridges but from what I have seen from my many years staying at The Nafsika there would be a major rewiring problem due to the shortage of electrical outlets in the rooms.

A kettle for this year is an improvement.

So, Jimbo, take some ice packs with you, I'm not sure where you can freeze them!!

Totally agree about The Romanza BBQ night, fantastic Greek dancing and singing, everyone encouraged to join in, wouldn't miss it for the world.

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Fresh fish
« on: May 18, 2012, 05:41:40 PM »
Spiros buys local fish. I've had them so fresh they're hard to spear with your fork as they jump around on the plate!

If you think they jump around on the plate try the kangaroo steak at Ozzy Oil

Top tip for newbies........... if you are walking along the beach towards the cliffs, and the thought of the nudie zone is too much and you need a drink to cool down, turn right up the steep zig zag clay path, it looks daunting, but its not as bad as it appears, at the top sits the Romanza, fab bar and a view of the coast that cant be beaten. From there you can meander down to the town by road with many tavernas on the way!

And if you DO want to see the nudies don't turn right!!
