Ah Tony, know how you feel. I have 3 dogs, 2 Collies and a Shi Tzu. I did think about bringing Alexandra home to the UK. But however short his life was, I think he enjoyed his freedom and would not have been happy cooped up in a small house.
My last memory of him is him with his paws on my shoulders the night before I was going home and me telling him to be careful.
Vey sad X

I crossed a bulldog with a Shi Tsu once and guess what I ended up with?

Spot on Yiannis - we all need to budget, but your extra trip through sourcing a wise budget, means the village will benefit from your trade there,
everyone's a winner then!!

EXCEPT THOMSONS !!!

We too stayed at The Romanza Villas just after they had opened, just the two of us.  They are extremely nice with fantastic views over the bay.

Athina does have WiFi, problem is you have beg to get the code. I only got it because I told both George & his  dad, that I am spending my money at Glens when I could be sitting in his bar, & I wasn't prepared to use & pay  for the Hotel PC. They then gave me the code. The WiFi, which works fine in the bar, only works in certain rooms. It is free. They told me that they don't freely give out the code because the "kids" then hook up all their smart phones, games etc., and slow the broadband.
So just ask for it - they will give it, especially when all other places do it free.
Tony

Thanks for that Tony, I'll probably see you you in The Athina or Glens when you are there in early July 2012.  Problem is that I will recognise you but you won't have a scooby who I am.

PS, remember I bought you a drink at The Athina last year (in my absence)!!

We've been there for many years, the food and staff are great but it means you have to cope with Speros, he's OK really.

There are 18 rooms, 9 on the first floor and 9 on the second floor.  10 of the rooms are sea facing and the other 8 are facing the hill, 2 are let privately by Speros both on the second floor facing the bay.  There are no fridges in the rooms and the air con costs 5 Euros per day (standard for SS) although some air con units are a bit noisy.

Great staff, last year it was Speros, Theodora & George (Speros mum & dad), Chris, Dominic, Nikos, Cleopatra, Ismial, Anna Maria, Eleni.

I found that The Nafsika were the only taverna to impose a 2% charge for using your credit card in 2011.

If I can help further please let me know.

I started writing a novelette last year in Agios Stephanos, a lot of it set on Corfu and Ag Stef. It was published in December 2011 and is being reprinted in "The year's best science fiction," out in July 2012. Why? In all my world travels as a writer I have never found anywhere as friendly and relaxing. Been back, been back again, and coming back again in 2012. Must be something in the water - but that's another story.

Something in the water or something in the Mythos Jimbo?

Thinking of taking an Ipad to SS this year, does anyone who knows which hotels/accommodation has free Wi-Fi, I know The Little Prince has (Jimbo) but what others?.

I am particularly interested if The Athina Hotel has free WI-Fi as both myself/wife and my son and family are staying here at different times of the year.

It's a long way up the hill, take your oxygen mask and join a gym to get fit before you go.
