They aren't saying we can't go, just that we need to quarantine on return so your insurance should be OK (I hope!) All this cos a load of teenagers can't keep it in their pants! >:(

We will go anyway and quarantine when we get back. I am prepared to lose 2 weeks wages if necessary. We have worked throughout the pandemic when many of my colleagues sat at home so I will have this holiday unless Greece declares US persona non grata!

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: Best Restaurant or Taverna

We never got into Manthos as there was no menu for us to peruse so we didn't bother!
Funnily enough we have similar issues at Waves-like the menu, love the location but there has always been one chap there who acts like he's doing us a big favour letting us eat there so we stopped bothering! So strange when everyone else welcomes us with open arms. Our faves would be ;

Olympia
Zorbas
Little Prince-Steve loves their sizzling steak, the dish you can wear as well as eat....
Brusko

Honourable mention to the bakery for their pain au chocolate-I don't know what sort of chocolate they use in them but it tastes like "Old Jamaica"....My favourite memories from last year were eating them for brekkie on the balcony overlooking the Vicky pool and the sea, and just thinking-"It doesn't get better than this"....

Thanks Jimbo. I noticed this a few weeks ago too - must have been end of July - your explanation makes more sense than the announcement that appears on-screen!
Same here, I started swearing and closing all my other websites down as I thought it was me! Should we log out when not actually in the forum then? I don't but I will if its an issue!

Found a newly uploaded video of San Stef on Youtube last night-it included footage of the Vicky pool so when Greece closes the doors me and DH can lie on the floor looking up at the screen and pretend we are there!  :'( Its by Pete Marks if anyone wants a look. It looks like he was on the first plane when Corfu reopened!

I can only think of one beach in the UK that allows cars on the beach. Brean Sands in Somerset at a charge of £3.00 per day, but it’s well controlled.

I used to go to the Pontins at Brean Sands as a child-do they park on the beach now? That would be weird as there used to be a pub between the park and the beach that had a massive car park where I assumed they cars would park!

The Greek one to go out appears to be one per household-ours to come back is one each!

We have already been in this position once this year as we were due to go to Florida the week after Easter (Mr Branson still hasn't refunded our money for that!) We are working on the theory that we AREN'T going then if we do it will be a big bonus!

Looking more and more likely that Greece will be next to be sublet to quarantine.
The annoying this is that we have been at work throughout the pandemic so if we have to quarantine for 2 weeks after our holiday we lose 2 weeks pay. Whereas , the day the lockdown started , around half our workforce suddenly remembered they were "at risk", went home, did nothing for around 10 weeks, got a laptop from work and now work from home, so if they had to quarantine they can still work from home and won't lose pay! And yes I know some DO have underlying health conditions putting them at risk, but at least one has never mentioned any illness prior to him heading out the door!

Thanks for letting me rant!
