San Stefanos Online ~ North West Corfu

Greetings from our balcony at the vicky. Another thunderstorm rumbling around but currently no rain or lightning. Like everyone else we feel safer here than at home and so glad we came. We've eaten at little prince and Olympia twice, barras, 2 stars and zorbas. I was disappointed with the latter as they didn't seem to be trying too hard. I had stamna and it was enormous lumps of chewy beef and underdone vegetables ! And I dislike the habit some restaurants have of bringing out their choice of dessert for you! Also a strange smell of corfiot bathroom at the entrance of zorbas🤢 . Lesley has looked after us all so well here even though there are only about half a dozen of us left.

Well we go tomorrow morning-and now I am panicking like crazy that the code won't come through for us to be allowed to travel-my silly husband was daft enough to mention that it should come through after midnight so now I probably won't sleep waiting for it to come-and then what if it doesn't? Has anyone heard of issues with the code not coming? what do we do-presumably we can't go, do we have to try again, is there anywhere you can contact to see what the problem is? Aggggggggghhhhhhh, major panic now-someone talk to me, reassure me...

Which is the best way to walk to Akrotiri from the village? Looking at google maps, there appears to be several "tracks" from the village, plus a road opposite Town Pizza-which would you recommend ? Factors to bear in mind are : I whine a lot when I'm hot and hate to walk up really steep hills! 

The launderette is still there but not open due to COVID restrictions it is located next to the Olive Wood shop just opposite Barola and next to 3W's....... we miss it too as I also get our duvets cleaned come Spring/Summer ready for  our Winter use...... may need to just buy new ones for this Winter instead.......

Thanks Lesley-well its quite simple then, either we eat all our meals in the Vicky pool or we consume nothing but vodka and gin so as not to stain anything we wear!   

Where is Gravia? And also where is the laundrette? I cannot picture either of them. As we are (hopefully) going for 11 days may need to do some laundry once we have slopped stifado everywhere! 

Hope its not going to cost you to quarantine when you get back-if they bring in quarantine for England, we have to either take the quarantine as leave or lose 2 weeks wages -still worth it to be honest! Thanks for the tip about the air-con. As a laydee of a certain age I told DH we were having it but as I am currently sitting at my desk at work freezing my doo-dahs off maybe I won't need the air con after all.

They aren't saying we can't go, just that we need to quarantine on return so your insurance should be OK (I hope!) All this cos a load of teenagers can't keep it in their pants!
