Having been going to SanStef for 10 years or more we decided to eat at some differant tavernas this time, well that was the plan anyway:
Sunset Taverna - had two evening meals, a take away pizza and a couple of lunches here. The Sunset is a great place for traditional home cooked fresh Greek food and they never disappoint. Lovely Greek salad, and cheese pies for lunch. Pizza a bit pricey at €9 but worth every cent. Stifado to die for and lovely fresh lamb gastra and lamb chops - a must for any visit to SanStef
Nafsika - Spero always looks after his customers very well and certainly looked after us. Lost count of the number of lunches we had here which included Greek salad, Tuna salad, and too many starters to fit on the table oh well! Gret meals which included smoked trout worthy of a michelin star restaurant, not that we have ever been to one! Calves liver cooked on the bbq fantastic. One night we had a Meze of about 6 differant starters and a salad with plenty of fresh bread just like the Greeks would have, go on give it a try. (went back three times!!!)
Beachcombers (new) - Well what can we say a differant class to the rest. Fish curry, Lamb taginne, Chicken stir fry, Pork in dijon mustard sauce and stuffed chicken. Make sure you ask for the roasties, just like you make at home Brilliant!!! (went back 3 times!!)
Ozzy Oils (new) - The best meal we have ever had in San Stef. Lovely fresh chicken stuffed with feta and served with roasted peppers and honey and those garlic cream potatoes ohhhhhhhh. The BBQ night must not be missed a great atmosphere great food and free entertainment (went back 3 times!!) such good value.
Manthos - OK we had lamb chops and BBQ prawns with a salad and fried squid for starters can't fault it and the view of the sun setting is fab. Very good but there is better choices now
Yiannis - see sep post
Brouklis (Arillas) - had three lunches here with Dimitris, courgette balls, salad, pumpkin pie, spinach pies all very very good honest Greek food and well recommended.
We tried two new places the Beachcombers Bistro and Ozzy Oils and ended up going back to them three times each, what does that tell you?? We are sure there are others just as good but you need more than two weeks to try them all.
By the way the Olive Press was very quiet every night we walked past, such a shame it was always buzzing and you had to fight for a table two years ago come on give it a go, although we were guilty of ignoring it this time in favour of the Beachcomber.
