The only Dionysos Taverna I can think of is in the village of Afionas. Great views over the bay of Agios Georgios. A long walk from San Stefanos through Arillas and uphill to Afionas, best to get a taxi.

Very well put Tony. We have been going to San Stef for 11 years now and stopping at the Olive Press for a chat with Simone was a part of our holiday. No doubt we will miss her this year, but we wish her well, and as you say these things happen and life goes on. We wish George continuing success with the restaurant and will have no problem going there for a meal if we so wish.

We have been going to San Stef in May for the past 10 years. As it is the start of the season you are made most welcome wherever you go. Be prepared for slightly chilly evenings, there is also a possibility of a rainy day. If the Mistral, a cold wind from europe, starts blowing it can get rather chilly and it will keep you off the beach.

George at the Mistral never lets us leave until we are well oiled up.  2 Stars, Yiannis and Paradise also give a complimentary drink.

We just turn up and our friend of many years now, Spiros ex Manthos and Zorbas, tells us what we should have. ::)
We have never had a bad meal there, he has good taste. :D

Our first evening meal will probably be at The Waves, looking out over the beach and watching the sunset.

We always have a walk up to Avliotes when visiting San Stef. We have lunch and a few drinks in the taverna overlooking the area mentioned. If I recall correctly the taverna is named The Vines.

Booked for two weeks at the Olga, 8th May 2009, way back in April 2008. Got a great deal from Thomson, would have been rude of us not to accept it.
