@rilo57 Yes, right beer with the right glass makes all the difference.  I have to make do with 4, Trappistes Rochefort, Chimay, Chouffe and Leffe.  Examples of the first 3 follow, but trying to find somewhere safe to store them is a challenge:

@rilo57 Looking forward to Nafsika, heard a lot of good stuff about it.  We'll have to have a beer tasting session  8)

@rilo57 I'm a fan of Belgian beer myself, La Chouffe, Chimay, Karmeliet and of course not forgetting San Stefanus http://www.st-stefanus.com/ (surely that last one should be stocked in San Stefanos)  :)

@johny rebel - Will give it a go

What is your favourite Corfu Beer?:

corfub by Andy Davies, on Flickr

  • Red Ale Special
  • Dark Ale Bitter
  • Amorosa Weisse
  • Contessa IPA
  • Royal Ionian Pilsner
  • Ionian EPOS
  • Ionian Gold
  • 1842 Ginger Beer

I think I tried the Red and the Dark Ale last year, in Agios Georgios, but I'd really like to try the Weisse...

It will be a fun night of 80's music, 80's cocktails with some classic 80's movies playing in the background....

We're staying in the Nafsika on that night....

One of my 17 yo son's favourite films is Top Gun, and my daughter loves 80's music and amongst her favourite films are Back to the Future, Dirty Dancing and The Breakfast Club.

So I think we''l be there.  I'm a bit more Teardrop Explodes, Talk Talk and New Order but I did like a bit of ABC, Japan and Duran Duran too.

Thanks to everyone for the Nafsika recommendations.   And for all those who will be there when we are - Not long to go now, can almost smell the Ouzo  8)

We'll have two teenagers in tow.  Any recommendations for a lively bar in the evenings (with a traditional one for grown-ups next door)!

I voted remain, but I'm not a sore loser. I'm going to get on with it!

I've also been going to Greece for the last 25 years.  I've been to fabulous places, Kefalos on Kos, Pefkos on Rhodes, Lassi in Kefalonia, Argassi, Alykanas, and Kalamaki, and last year Agios Georgios a few miles away from San Stefanos.

Every holiday I've ever been on in Greece has been fabulous. The Greeks are a wonderful nation, full of wonderful people who care about trying to make our holidays the best they can.  I can remember arriving in Kefalos in the middle of the night just after my wife had had a big operation, I was triple stressed and I started making a list of issues in my head, probably about 30, of things to fling at the rep and the appartment owner.

In the morning we had, a couple of hours to ourselves, walking around feeling the sunshine on our faces, being met with smiles and "kalimeras".  When I met the rep and the owner they asked me if there were any issues - I said - "Yes, there's no tin-opener" ...... No f***ing tin opener - that's all I could complain about! (we had a new tin-opener in an hour!)

This is my first holiday to San Stefanos.  I'm staying at Naksika, and because of the power of the internet, I've read all the great reviews.  Not one politician, not one xenophobe will spoil my holiday.  I'm looking forward to the best holiday I'm ever going to have with fantastic people.  I'm going to buy beer, eat fresh beautifully prepared food and  I'm going to (attempt to) juggle my football on the beach and pretend know I'm better than Wayne Rooney and the other sub-standard £150,000/week footballers who so sadly let us down yesterday.

Anybody who is going to San Stefanos on holiday, and will be there in August between 12th-26th look out for the pink headed ball juggler on the beach and invite me to share a beer or two,  and I'll join you and promise to make your holiday a little jollier!

Enjoy your holidays everyone, you've deserved them!

There is an interesting thread on Facebook this morning regarding the possibility of a mini train running through the resort.  As there are a lot of committed regulars here, I wondered if they had any thoughts on this topic.

Here is the thread on Facebook for reference: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900108303350223/permalink/1298344863526563

Dimitris, this is a big improvement.  Even photos added with the [img] tag get re-sized - see my post: http://www.sanstefanos.co.uk/smf/index.php/topic,2419.1230.html#subject_71560

Having the forum in a mobile-friendly form will be of use for browsing at home on mobile devices in front of the telly and for those using phones and tablets in San Stefanos - Well done :)

Thanks, a few days after I created mine, I did find this.  It's tucked away in the Arillas forum somewhere.  I'm not sure if it's maintained though.  I'll try to update mine. Just following some of the threads here, it seems that there are changes in the businesses almost every year so it seems its ever-changing.

When we go, in August, I'll try to update mine as much as possible, but as I mentioned in my original post, if anybody wants anything added, they just need to ask :)
