saw a few live acts this year in ss including athens bar, but beware all ouzo drinkers, drink bottled beer instead.
no live music at the gladiator bar but the drinks were right on the money, cheers Dimitri.

first went to ss in 1999, my kids were 12,14. it was the first holiday where i felt it was safe for them to go with new friends around a resort.
the local people are so friendly and always seemed to know where the kids were (there were about 8 or 10) going around ages from 8 to 15.
never once did i feel worried about them here.
used the athens bar as my bar of choice, nikos and his cousin spiros were behind the bar, what a double act.
often left early hours, not drunk just relaxed and in great spirits.
this year is my sixth visit, my daughter and her kids are currently at the tsaros, she was more excited than the kids as she hasnt been for about 9 yrs.
every time we return and walk into the athens bar, nikos is full fuss of us, but everywhere we go people rcognise us from previous visits, its why i keep coming back, and will keep coming back.
the perfect place to de-stress. roll on the 21st

we booked with thomson for this june into july 2weeks,staying at the athina half board cost £900 we thought this was quite a good deal.

a big THANK YOU to all, my daughter feels a lot happier now, she was 12/13 the last time she was at ss, i had told her not to worry about food as there are plenty of good eateries.
she isnt looking forward to the walk back up with a 8yr old and a 4yr old.
i will be there for one of the weeks she is there, think the hill will probably finish me off.

my daughter is staying at the tsaros apts in june, please does anyone know what the food is like there. i.e basic foods or taverna menu etc

went in there two years ago everything was pretty much still there, even cases of stella.
one of the waiters at the athina hinted at it now being owned by corfu mafia.
dont know how true it was but will check out june 2011, cant wait, my 7th time in ss then, always feels like coming home when i get there.
