Yawn, yawn yawn.  Too many sanctimonious folk on here already, as well as cyber bullies.  Anyone with any different opinions is slapped down by the same old forum members time and time agian!

I am not taking any moral high ground.  And yes, this forum does do a great job of promoting SS.  I am not disputing that.  A while back, for example, I seen on this forum, someone's marriage openly discussed on this forum. I am not pointing fingers at anyone or making accusations or insulting anyone.  I comment on things as I see them, whether right or wrong, as all the forum members do.  Perhaps my views on how I see things and how forum members see them are as different as night and day.  That's what keeps the forum interesting.  Yes I am blunt and to the point, which I make no apologies for.  ;D

Well said Tony.  Don't know where you get that I tell people what to do.  And yes, by nature I am a miserable person.  I love it.  Nothing like a bit of cyber bullying to make my day. You are all very vocal about voicing your opinions and views, and once someone comes along with a different opinion or view, you don't like it.  Seen it too many times on here.  And no I won't butt out.  Have I ever insulted you?  No, I haven't.  Have you insulted me?  Yes, by calling me see 'you're being your usual miserable self stock jockey'.  FYI, I don't feel offended for the world.  I'm at peace with myself and the world.  Be sure to have a nice day y'all  ;D

Jimbo,

I'm well aware people are friendly with locals.  I'm voicing my opinion, whether forum members think it's harsh or not.  I've been watching this forum on and off for months, and I've seen locals personal lives discussed on here on several occassions.  Would you feel happy having any of your personal matters discussed on a public forum for the world to see?  That is the point of the forum is it not? To voice one's opinions.

No secret and not something that you can hide, I just don't see why Donna and Spiros personal business has been posted on this forum

I was being sarcastic.  I assume Donna and Spiros gave permission for their business to be broadcast on San Stef forum?

I'm sure they will both be delighted to find out that news of their imminent new arrival has been announced on the San Stef forum!

Tonyco1, you don't know me.  FYI, I live and work here and English is my 1st language.  I work in a hotel and depsite having notices up asking guests politely not to put anything down the toilet, it still happens.  Yes, I know it is easy to forget sometimes, all i'm asking, is please spare a thought for those that have to unblock the pipes.  It has already happened twice this season, and it leaves an unpleasant smell in the guests room for a couple of days.

I know many of you have been coming to San Stef for many years, and I don't think I come across as authorative and stong.  I am just straight to the point.  I am a chilled out person and have a sense of humor.  I am also friendly as well.  I am only trying to put across the views of those that live and work here.  Try to see things from our side.

I know you all have banter on here and things are done tongue in cheek, which is great.  It's a great forum.  Long may it continue.

Where to stay / Re: Info on Tereza apartments needed

Lucky you, because it's not the norm in self catering, unless you are staying in the newer high spec apartements around the village.  Self catering is just that, you buy your own supplies, loo roll, washing up liquid etc

Most self catering apartments supply the first toilet roll, thereafter, guests buy their own.  I am sure everyone knows, not to flush any paper down the toilet.  I read somewhere if you do and the pipes block, the charge to the guest is around 100 euros.

I wouldn't recommend putting any paper whatsoever down the toilet.  If everyone follows your advice, then wherever you are staying, the pipes will block eventually.  The cleaners in the apartments and hotels are used to emptying these bins on a daily basis.  Please show some consideration for the person that may have to unblock the pipes.   If the hotel or apartment asks you not to put paper down the toilet, please abide by that rule.

This will be my last posting on this matter.  I can hear a loud cheer coming down my computer.  Of course everyone is entitled to air their views, whether it be positive or negative on their SS experience.  Part of SS's appeal is that it appeals to all social classes.

Pembo, I agree with your views on 4 star hotels  - Before we cast critisism, maybe we should take a step back and look what reception we would get if we tried to gain entry in top class hotels in our own country. Imagine if we walked in to a hotel in London armed with towel and flip flops with a the intention of using the pool. I think we have been spoiled by the hospitality we receive in SS, so I would not lose much sleep over the lack of hospitality shown towards us in  the DB.

The main issue as faf as I am concerned, is referring to the receptionist as a 'rottweiler'.  Before posting comments, whether they be positive or negative, ask yourself this, if someone was posting comments on your business/work, would you like to read a personal insult like this, bearing in mind, your friends, family and coworkers can read what has been said?  :)

Where to eat out in San Stefanos? / Re: mythica

And what would you suggest re checked for quality, the staff conducting a taste test?  Seriously, where am I working, I have exactly the same problem.  If there are problems, people chat amongst themselves and very rarely say anything.  How can problems get resolved if you don't inform staff? It's better to mention the problem, rather than not knowing and then finding out from the internet.  I know it's British nature not to complain, but it makes me feel very uneasy and i'm sure a few others that we think everything is ok, only to read about problems via the internet.

Spesh 49, did you and the others tell Jenny there was a problem with that particular dish?  If you don't tell the restraunters there was a problem, how will it get resolved?  I'm sure Jenny would be mortified reading about this online.

Jimbo, so what you are saying is that it's ok for people to insult others over the internet when they were politely advised of the hotel rules.  Like I keep saying, I know the receptionist and have heard her version of events and am inclined to believe that the lady that made the insulting comments was disgruntled, as she wasn't able to freely wander around the hotel.  English is not the mother tongue of many of the Delfino's employees, so perhaps they do come across as being rude.  It's a 4 star hotel, and is full from the day it opens until the day it closes, so obviously the owner is doing something right.  I don't see how the hotel is being pretentious.  If you stayed in a 4 star hotel in Britain or any other country, you would expect 4 star service, which is exactly what the hotel is providing as there is obviously a demand for it.  Demand for higher spec apartments and hotels is on the increase in San Stefanos, that's why we now have a 4 star hotel in San Stefanos.  The owner spotted a gap in the market and filled that gap.

At the rate i'm going writing posts on this subject, i'll soon be a 'San Stef Expert/Hero' even though I live here lol
