Despite now being child free we are stuck with schools hols and associated prices because wife works at a school. So we book independent and I hunt for cheapest flights.
Jet2 flights from East Mids is our preference but this year they were £600 more (for two of us) than Ryanair from East Mids so Ryanair it is.
Wife breaks up from school on Wednesday 23rd July and we fly out morning of Friday 25th to the amazing Fedra for two weeks. Can’t wait!
They were saying flights were a big factor in the inflation rate rises, but you have to say we have had low prices for a while now, so it hurts all the more having large increases. We've not been away for sometime now, out of choice. When we do travel it will be back to independent travel for us too. After doing this for years we are quite used to it and will pick the airline and airport where the flights suit us the best. We are quite happy to split the carrier and use Jet2 going and RyanAir on the return. No parking at airports for us either, so can and will go and come back using different airports. Although we live in Yorkshire, we've done Stansted that many times we are quite happy to look at it as an option too.
