just a quickie re the Vicky!
« on: September 10, 2010, 03:13:24 PM »
3 days until we go to the Vicky aprtments and the long range forecast has rain for Corfu next week >:(. If the worst comes to the worst, does anyone know if there are TVs in the room and if so what channels they pick up-is it all greek channels or do they have BBC Worldwide or Sky news or anything we can understand?

We got back from the Vicky on Monday. We had studio 17 in the new building which had a TV.
It got BBC World News and Sky News with perfect pictures, and one or two other channels with very snowy pictures.
We saw an episode of "Monk" on one of these which was subtitled, so it meant that the dialogue was in English.
There is a big TV in the bar with most of the Sky channels as far as we could see.
Enjoy yourselves, we did and have just booked to go back next June!

Aw, thanks Iris. ;D Not that I intend to go on holiday to watch TV but its nice to know if we do get bad weather we don't have to go stir crazy in the room! Lat time we went we had rain practically every day for the whole week-not all day but enough that we were running in and out from the pool, and we never got to the beach at all. Thats partly why we picked the Vicky this time (Last time we were in the Romanza and its lovely but too far from everything).

Still things you can do, but mostly, the bad weather is kept over Corfu Town by the nmountains,
so often the forecast is wrong in a nice way!

As we arrived at Corfu airport this afternoon there was a lot of cloud hanging about and the odd spit of rain on the coach windows.

sharris - Little Prince.  Might make it by 4pm - depends on the flight and bus route, obviously. Where are you going from?

ha ha Don

Just to explain Jimbo - last year i arranged to meet Don as he arrived and we were leaving just for a quick drink and hello.............DOOMED !!!!  they got very delayed due to torrential rain and thunderstorms and we got stuck inside at Tereza's all day and night til our pick up - it was horrible weather......Don was going to Little Prince !!!!!  i doubt we will meet then as we will be about going when you arrive.....we fly from Birmingham airport and always stay at Tereza's.

Weather looks ok still, some rain this week and poss on Fri pm as we leave and Sat pm, but these forecasts change so often its only a guide !!!!! famous last words !!!! LOL

Sarah

We spent a day round the Tereza pool due to the high winds up at the Romanza.......couldn't believe the difference just being a bit down the hill made to the strength of the wind!

It was a nice pool area but we were pestered by the wasps as it was a lot greener than round the Romanza pool. Still, another hol chalked off without getting stung!!!
