I got stung by one in Cornwall when I was about 8yo..... awful..... still remember it!!

My dad and a guy went out and brought one back in in a dinghy..... it was the size of a dustbin lid!

Been in the sea today. As usual, there are NO jellyfish.

I think Gav's been back on the magic mushrooms - - I've never seen a jellyfish there....

Deffo Tony. There was one year when it was really warm and the gulfstream brought them up to the Cornish coast. Also lots of Basking Sharks around

Well that's Cornwall - the place where my Mum hailed from...
It's San Stefanos that we are talking about... the only Jellies there are the ones kids wear on their feet....

Sorry Tony you are wrong we saw them on the beach and being caught in the sea with nets and being put into buckets  ,I certainly hadn't been on the magic mushrooms.We have been going for years and its the first time we had seen them out in force.

30 years there without a jellyfish - and then 3 come along together - - just like London Buses!!

From the bridge up to the Havana the sea had been very rough so guess they got carried in by the waves,it was between 10th June and 26th hope its all clear 19th August when we return .!!

Far further out than that. It's hard to prove a negative, but seriously, there are NO jellyfish. Lie about on your Lilo or ring, swim out as you may, there are no sharks, raptors, huge crabs, giant squid, sea snakes, crocodiles, mutant turtles, alien flesh-eaters, undead, ghouls, vampiric monsters, flesh-eating eels, strange aquatic plants whose very touch will suck the flesh from your bones, incarnations of of call-centre desperation.

It's a bit boring, really. Warm, salty water. That's it. They don't say that on the brochures. It's utterly devoid of threat. Jump in.
