Swedebasher, I think what Chrissyann might be refering to is that it was up for sale last year, along with some other state owned airports.
I'm not 100% sure, but think it did get sold, maybe Lesley knows??

All I do know is that it is business as usual, well it was when I picked up/dropped off friends a couple of weeks ago.

Hasn't Tsipras put a stop to all privatisations? Mr Google did not come up with anything about a sale.

Yes Hippopots that was it, I just hadn't seen any mention of it since last year and wondered if we were in for any delays this year!

No updates from here either...... All the same at the airport presently.  Will let you know if I hear anything otherwise. Nothing on local news recently relating.

The privatisation was cancelled by the Syriza government on February 15th. It had been agreed with a German company by the previous government.

Had a quick look on the webcam today - where's the beach gone!?  Weather forecast sounded pretty awful, so I guess that's the cause of the high water and lack of sand.

They've had violent storms and abnormal rain. There's a landslide on the harbour road. It'll sort itself out.

After a very wet and windy Thursday and Friday, things improved yesterday, and as the sun's come back out today we headed down to San Stef, and the beach.
The weather has been harsh, resulting in a very wide stream/river, and some beach erosion, but as Jimbo says, nature will sort it out, (along with a little help from the JCB) before the start of the season.
But, despite the weather, it does feel like Spring is here, as the wild spring flowers are in full bloom, the nights are drawing out a little, and there were sheep with their lambs on the grass behind Barras.
All is very quiet in the village, as its Sunday. But the recent work at The Olive Press has resulted in a new roof over te front patio, and new wooden railings along the front.
Once we get into April, I expect we'll all start getting stuck in, with a break for Easter of course, so the daily updates will start again soon, to try and keep you all up to date

Does that mean the Olive Press has been sold and will be re-opening this year?

Hi Silverstar, I don't know if the Olive Press has sold or been rented ,but yes, it will have someone trading there this year. Nice to see it opening again.

Brilliant - always good to have a new restaurant to try especially if Quattro isn't reopening this year.
