Hi BarbaraG, it was nice to meet you too....see you next year!

Hey swedebasher the storms didn't stay away long did they!  :-[

Think maybe that Mr Waspman took the sun home with him this morning, as an overcast start to the day threatened a storm, resulting in only a few brave souls on the beach this morning.

By lunchtime there were some very dark clouds looming over the headland between here and Arillas, and the wind started to pick up...sure sign rain was coming, and sure enough by 2pm it was raining sideways.

Fortunately, although it's stayed overcast all day, the rain cleared by 4pm, meaning people could head out again.

This evening Little Prince and Zorbas nice and busy, and Motown tribute has just started in Condor.

Well done Jimbo, thats what we like to hear!  :D

Today has been mainly sunny, with some wispy clouds, but that pesky mistral wind is back again!

So quite a breezy day and evening.

More changeovers today, so more new faces, and some familiar one back again  :)

Everyone has the wind breaks down tonight, and necessarily so, nearly got blown away when I walked around the corner towards the beach just past Olympia!

Little Princess Bar has closed for 2014, but as they are linked to Little Prince hotel, they do tend to open later and close earlier than elsewhere, as the hotel also has facilities.

Although we're near the end of September, there's still a good number of people here, out enjoying drinks and dinner. Things will start to slow down really as we go into October, but its a nice time to come if you just fancy a quiet break, and of course there's the added bonus of the beer festival at the Corfu brewery just up the hill towards Arillas, which is on from 8th - 12th October.  ;D

Nice sunny day today, just a few wispy clouds, but nothing much to speak of, so plenty of people heading to the beach or the pool today.

It was Shane and Sandra's last day at the juice bar today....and this morning they were nice and busy! So no chance to wind down, and a sure sign that they will be missed, but we all wish them well.

Got a bit breezy again tonight, resulting in most people having to eat inside rather than al fresco, then heading on for a drink after.

Good to hear, just left a very cool and dull Santorini and now in Athens airport en-route to San Steph. Santorini was nice but it just wasn't SS so looking forward to chilled nights, great food and no idiot Far-East tourists!

It's a lovely day. The wind has gone, the sun's shining, and the sea's calm. About a week of this forecast. Hurray!!!

Yep, as Jimbo says, today has been lovely....wall to wall sunshine, hardly a cloud, increase in temperature, and a nice calm sea.

Quite a few enjoying a sunday fry up in Condor this morning, and with Barras offering a sunday roast tonight, there's an alternative or 2 for anyone missing home cuisine!

A glorious sunset this evening preceded a slightly chilly night, but nothing more than expected at this time of year, although not many wandering around.
Hopefully Jimbo's right on his forecast and we still have plenty more sunshine to come before the end of the 2014 summer season.

Yes, looking good till the weekend so making the most of the quiet Kapetanios pool to enjoy the warm sunshine.

It was sooo nice to have lunch for two with a beer each without having to remortgage the house!

Santorini was pretty but it was a one off trip, SS has so much more to offer.

Ooops, sorry all, didn't do a post for yesterday.
We did a sneaky night off for a meal with friends, didn't get back til 2am.  ;D

But yesterdays weather was gorgeous, as was todays, with lots of clear blue sky, and very little breeze, lovely!!

Things are a little quieter now, with yesterdays departures, more people left than arrived, and a couple of businesses have decided to finish for this year....the juice bar, on Saturday, Sunset on Sunday, and Acabar was closed last night and tonight. Although he hasn't packed away his patio furniture as yet, so maybe he's keeping his options open....

But still lots of choice for food and drinkies, and with less people, a nice quiet beach to enjoy!

Remarkable deep blue sky above San Steph today with the air having the crystal clear clarity you only get in autumn, temperature about 25c in the afternoon so warm enough for most people with just a light breeze.

Friday onwards does not look as good with more cloud about but you can't complain. What I have noticed this September/October is how green Corfu is compared with most years, the landscape is more like early May than September and of course this is down to the frequent spells of heavy rain earlier in the month.

The green countryside combined with the blue sky and bright sun has given the island a beauty that painters and poets would love, superb.

Yep, Andy7 is right, the island is very green at the mo, due to Sept storms, and does look absolutely gorgeous!

Today, bright, sunny, calm, and hot!
Plenty of room on sunbeds on the beach this afternoon, and the sea was a lovely temperature when I went for a little dip this afternoon.

A beautiful sunset this evening too, with the sun glowing almost red as it hit the horizon, casting a golden glow over the village.

A number of people enjoying the view from Kamini tonight, and there was an aroma of yummy spit roast coming from Manthos.
Also, nice to see Acabar back open again tonight....tis not the end of the season yet!

They're not kidding. Yesterday a cold wind started in the afternoon and the evening was very chilly.

Today was about as perfect as it gets at this time of the year. The sky defined blue, the sea was gentle, and the breeze was just the warm breath of a baby's whisper.

Spent the day at the Nafsika pool - beautiful as always, and only two others there. The great sight was George coming in with his Zimmer frame and walking an entire circuit of the pool. He's doing fantastically well. Bit scary watching him going down steps and thinking "What if he falls?", wanting to help, but then realising he doesn't want help.

The air stayed warm enough to eat outside tonight. Wonderful.

This time of the year you have to take every day as it comes - but maybe that's a great life rule.
