Dionysos
Is located in the pretty village of Afionas and is situated on the top of the hill overlooking the horseshoe bay of A G Georgios.
At the end of the road just past the church look out for a small shop with a sign on the wall directing you to the Dionysos Taverna. A narrow road takes you past some whitewashed properties with bright painted doors and after walking for approx 100m you will reach the taverna.
At first glance it didn't look very special however, we soon realised we had found a very special place indeed!
The Taverna has one of the best views over the bay of AG Georgios and the food was good too. Again a vast menu of Greek favorites including Mousaka, kebabs and salads we have had the meze for lunch on a number of occasions. This consists of a platter of stuffed vine leaves, cheese pies, spinach pies, squid, taramasalata, tzatziki and many other tastes for a very reasonable cost. Best served with a Greek salad and a bottle of Mythos or a draft beer.
A long walk or a short journey by car from San Stefanos but well worth the effort.
Dionysos is the Greek god of wine and good time and that's exactly what you will find at the Dionysos Taverna.
If you don't quiet make it to the Dionysos there are many other restaurants all with excellent views on the way.
